Summary of the contracting process

ESPO, a central purchasing body based in Leicester, is currently engaged in the procurement process for the "376F_22 Library Stock" tender. This initiative is aimed at renewing a framework agreement for the supply of library stock materials—which includes printed matter such as adult and children's fiction and non-fiction books—as part of their goods procurement category. The tender process employs an open procedure and is expected to culminate in contract awards by 19 November 2021. The resultant framework will feature multiple suppliers, with the contract period running from 1 April 2022 to 31 March 2024, with the possibility of a 24-month extension.

This tender offers significant opportunities for businesses in the publishing and distribution sectors, particularly those specialising in printed materials. Suppliers who can efficiently provide serviced library stock, equipped with stock labels, date stamps, and RFID tags would be well-suited to compete. Businesses targeting public sector clients, such as local authorities and educational institutions, will find this framework particularly advantageous for increasing their market reach and expanding service capabilities within the public sector.
