Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves the Cardiff Council, which is seeking to establish the South East & Mid Wales Collaborative Construction Framework (SEWSCAP). This framework is designed for building construction work, particularly relating to schools and public buildings, in the South East and Mid Wales regions. The framework aims to promote good working practices and improve sustainability and social value. The estimated total value of the framework is £1 billion, and it is currently in the active award stage following its signing on 5th February 2020. The delivery addresses fall within the region of UKL2, with a project duration of approximately four years.

Businesses that could benefit from this tender include construction firms, especially those specialising in school and public building projects, refurbishment work, and construction related to leisure and sports facilities. Both large contractors and small to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) are encouraged to compete for this significant opportunity, as the framework will involve various construction activities that require a range of expertise. This collaborative framework not only provides a chance for growth but also positions businesses to contribute to community-focused projects aimed at enhancing local infrastructure.
