Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process seeks to establish a multi-supplier framework for the provision of water coolers and associated services, including maintenance and sanitisation, managed by ESPO (East Sussex, Kent, and Sussex Purchasing Organisation). The initiative is classified under the goods category, with a financial value of £4,000,000. This framework will be available for various public bodies across the UK, including local authorities, educational establishments, and NHS entities. The tender phase is currently active, with submissions due by 21st March 2022, following an open procurement method.

This opportunity is particularly advantageous for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) specialising in the supply, installation, and maintenance of water coolers. Companies that can offer diverse products, such as plumbed-in and bottled options, and supplementary services like sanitisation and consumables are well-suited to compete. As ESPO is a central purchasing body, participating in this framework can also facilitate further business with a wide range of public sector clients across the UK, thereby fostering significant growth potential for suppliers in this industry.
