Summary of the contracting process

The Central Bedfordshire Council is planning to procure services for its Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme, which focuses on providing children's holiday-camp services. This tender, designated to take place over the next three years, seeks expert holiday club providers who can deliver enriching activities and healthy meals for children aged 5 to 16 who are eligible for income-based free school meals. The procurement is currently at the planning stage, with a market engagement event scheduled for 10:00 on 14 February 2022, and the tender is expected to be published by the week ending 18 February 2022, for services required across the UKH25 region.

This procurement offers significant opportunities for businesses specialising in youth services, child daycare, and holiday programme management. Providers that can deliver quality physical activities and nutritious meals while adhering to data collection and reporting requirements set by the Department for Education will be particularly well-suited to compete. The tender's focus on educational and recreational services during school holidays makes it an attractive prospect for organisations aiming to expand their offerings in the community services sector.
