Summary of the contracting process

The Bank of England is currently conducting a public procurement process for "Cash In Transit Logistics" services, having initiated a tender with an open procurement method. This pertains to the transport services industry, specifically focusing on secure logistics for banknotes and related materials. Bids are to be submitted electronically, with the tender period ending on 4th March 2022. The procurement is divided into two lots: Lot 1 covers logistics for Exemplar Genuine Notes and other security items, while Lot 2 involves secure transportation of Banknotes. Interested suppliers must complete a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) before accessing the tender documents, which must be submitted via the designated platform by 23rd February 2022 to allow for sufficient preparation time.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in secure transportation and logistics, particularly those experienced in handling sensitive materials and complying with stringent security regulations. Companies that can demonstrate capability in providing reliable cash handling solutions may find the two contracts particularly advantageous, as they allow for a maximum duration of three years with potential annual extensions. Successful bidders will engage in critical services to facilitate the secure movement of cash between Bank of England locations and partner organisations, which could enhance their visibility and reputation in the competitive logistics sector.
