Summary of the contracting process

The Anglian Water Services Limited is seeking contractors for a river restoration project aimed at improving habitats affected by public water supply abstraction, with a completion deadline of 22 December 2024. The procurement is at the Award stage, having been signed on 1 January 2022, and encompasses various locations across the UK, particularly in Tuddenham, Cavenham, and Heacham. The project falls under the works category, specifically classified as "River regulation and flood control works", and was initiated through a selective procurement method involving a negotiated procedure with prior call for competition.

This tender presents substantial opportunities for growth in the environmental and civil engineering sectors, particularly for businesses specialising in river management and restoration projects. Companies involved in design, construction, and maintenance of ecological works, as well as those supplying materials such as gravel and woody debris, would be well-positioned to participate. Given that the framework has been awarded to established suppliers, smaller firms with innovative solutions may also find avenues for collaboration as secondary support providers under the main contractors.
