Summary of the contracting process

Cambridge City Council is currently inviting tenders for the operation of community cafes across two new coffee shop facilities: The new Meadows Coffee Shop and the Clay Farm Centre Coffee Shop. This open procurement process, classified under hotel, restaurant and retail trade services, is at the Tender stage. Interested suppliers must submit their bids electronically by 23rd May 2022 before noon. Each café will have an initial contract period of five years, with an option to extend for an additional two years.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the catering and hospitality sectors, particularly those specialising in community-focused operations. Companies with experience in coffee shop management, catering services, or those looking to expand their market presence within the Cambridge area would be well-positioned to compete. The successful bidders will not only gain a foothold in these community centres but also the potential to enhance their brand visibility in a growing residential neighbourhood.
