Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Commissioning Board, operating under the name of NHS England, has planned a procurement process for independent clinical reviews into deaths in custody within the South East Health & Justice Detained Estates. This process covers various locations including Thames Valley, Isle of Wight, Winchester, Sussex, Kent, and Surrey. The procurement is classified under healthcare services and will be conducted according to the Light Touch Regime, as per the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. Interested providers should express their interest for future participation via the Atamis portal by 27 June 2022.

This procurement opportunity presents significant potential for healthcare service providers, particularly those with expertise in clinical reviews and investigations within secure environments such as prisons and detention centres. Businesses that can demonstrate a strong background in providing healthcare services to vulnerable populations and have experience collaborating with public health authorities will be well-suited to compete. Engaging in this process could lead to long-term contracts, as the anticipated contract term is three years with an option for extension, making it an excellent avenue for growth in the health services sector.
