Notice Description

Haringey Council ("the Council") invites tenders from General Practitioners to deliver the provision of Public Health commissioned General Practitioners Prevention Services. The aim of the services is to improve the health of Haringey residents and reduce health inequalities by providing services that are tailored to local health needs and improve outcomes of residents in their communities.

Opiate Substance Misuse Service

Opiate substitute prescribing (OSP) is the evidence-based treatment for opiate dependency. It includes using medications, including methadone and Buprenorphine combined with psychosocial interventions.

Long Acting Reversible Contraception (LARC)

Haringey General Practices may apply to be registered as a provider of the Enhanced Service for Intra-Uterine Contraceptive Device Fitting (IUCD) if they meet the eligibility criteria for both the practice (premises and systems) and for individual clinicians providing the service. This is an 'Open Access' service for Haringey residents registered with a GP in Haringey, this implies that residents may access this service from participating surgeries irrespective of whether they are registered with the provider surgery.

Stop Smoking Service

The focus of the Stop Smoking services within GP practices is to offer: Very Brief Advice (VBA) and one to one support to local residents who want to give up smoking. The Service shall improve access for Haringey residents to stop smoking support and where appropriate, supply Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) and pharmacological interventions as prescribed by their GP. Complex clients requiring specialist support shall be referred to the specialist service at One You Haringey.

NHS Health Checks

The NHS Health Check is a health check-up for adults in Haringey aged 40 to 74. It's designed to spot early signs of stroke, kidney disease, heart disease, type 2 diabetes or dementia.
