Summary of the contracting process

The procurement process involves Network Rail Infrastructure Ltd, which is planning to establish frameworks for Capital Delivery Works under the CP7 programme, specifically for the North West & Central Region. The initial phase of this tender is scheduled to occur from 1st April 2024 to 31st March 2029, with a launch event for interested parties taking place online on 7th June 2022. Companies must register by 08:00 (GMT) on the same day to participate. The procurement covers construction work, classified under the CPV code 45000000, and has an indicative value of £1.19 billion, with the anticipated award date for frameworks in October 2023. The tendering type relates to works and is currently at the planning stage.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses involved in construction, particularly those specialising in civil engineering, electrical installations, and related services for railway infrastructure. Companies engaged in medium to large projects, capable of handling contracts ranging from £100,000 to £150 million, will be well-suited to compete for these frameworks. The maximum duration of these frameworks is anticipated to be up to seven years, making this a long-term opportunity for suppliers looking to expand their presence in the rail sector within the UK.
