Summary of the contracting process

The South of Scotland Enterprise Agency is planning a procurement process titled "Award for the opportunity to deliver the design, build and operation of a commercial bike park." This initiative falls under the category of construction work for leisure, sports, culture, lodging, and restaurants, and is located in Innerleithen, Scotland. The procurement is currently in the planning stage, with interested parties encouraged to submit an Expression of Interest (EOI) by 15th July 2022. Notably, this project has the potential to secure up to £6 million in grant funding through the Borderlands Inclusive Growth Deal, specifically aimed at capital infrastructure works.

This tender presents a significant opportunity for businesses in the construction and leisure industry, particularly those with experience in developing recreational facilities. Companies that specialise in park design, construction, and operation, as well as those with expertise in securing funding for public infrastructure projects, would be well-suited to compete. Participating in this project could enable businesses to enhance their portfolios and expand their operations in a burgeoning market, especially given the location's status as a leading mountain biking destination in the South of Scotland.
