Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, commonly known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is currently conducting an open tender for a framework agreement focused on the provision of sack holders, classified under waste and rubbish containers and bins. This procurement, valued at approximately £2,384,000, is aimed at supporting all entities governed by the National Health Service (Scotland) Act 1978, including various NHS Scotland Health Boards and related organisations. The tender process includes a submission period that closes on 1st July 2022 and requires participants to commit to developing and delivering community benefits throughout the framework's duration of four years.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses in the waste management and healthcare supply sectors. Companies that produce or supply waste and rubbish containers would be particularly well-suited to compete, provided they can also demonstrate a commitment to community benefit initiatives within Scotland. Participants will be expected to detail both their past contributions to community benefits and their plans for delivering similar outcomes if awarded the contract, thereby enabling businesses focused on social responsibility to enhance their competitive edge in this procurement process.
