Summary of the contracting process

The Common Services Agency, also known as NHS National Services Scotland (NSS), is currently engaged in a procurement process for "Fresh Milk and Cream Products." This tender, classified under the goods category with a focus on milk and cream (CPV code: 15510000), aims to supply NHS Scotland Health Boards and Special Boards, as well as various NHS organisations. The contract, valued at £1,700,000, is active and has been extended for an additional year due to the ongoing demands posed by the Covid-19 pandemic. The expected procurement stage is set to commence in May 2023 as a new tender process, having recently undergone a necessary delay to better align with the requirements of the health sector following the pandemic. Deliveries will be made across all NHS Scotland Health Board locations in the UK.

This tender represents a valuable opportunity for businesses operating in the dairy products sector, particularly those that can supply fresh milk and cream. Companies that are large-scale suppliers with the capacity to deliver to multiple health board locations in Scotland would be well-suited to compete in this tendering process. Engaging in this procurement can help businesses expand their market share within the public sector, especially given the contractual longevity and robust demand forecasted by NHS Scotland in response to the ongoing recovery from the Covid-19 crisis.
