Summary of the contracting process

The tender titled "Hospital Electronic Prescribing and Medicines Administration Services" is initiated by Digital Health and Care Wales, seeking to establish a multi-vendor Framework Agreement for NHS organisations to purchase software supply services tailored to electronic prescribing solutions. This procurement, classified under the services category, is currently in the planning stage, with important date extensions notably pushing the submission deadline to 29 July 2022. The associated NHS organisations are primarily located in Wales, with the framework intended to facilitate localized purchasing through a mini-competition process.

This procurement presents significant growth opportunities for software companies, particularly those specialising in healthcare technology. Businesses that can provide ongoing development, upgrade, and maintenance of electronic prescribing systems, along with integration capabilities with local and national healthcare systems, would be well-suited to compete. Companies should focus on showcasing solutions that enhance auditable prescribing decision-making support and streamline pharmaceutical administration within NHS Wales, thereby positioning themselves favourably in a competitive tendering environment.
