Notice Information
Notice Title
Asbestos Remedial Works TMC
Notice Description
The duty to manage asbestos is contained in regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2012. The duty to manage asbestos is directed at those who manage non-domestic premises: the people with responsibility for protecting others who work in such premises, or use them in other ways, from the risks to ill health that exposure to asbestos causes. A contract is required to manage the removal of Asbestos from Council-owned premises. We do not have the in-house ability or facilities to undertake these statutory tasks in-house and therefore it was necessary for us to go to the External Market in order for the Council to comply with its statutory obligations. The contract value is a approximate estimated spend over a four year term. The value will depend on the works identified.
