Summary of the contracting process

Digital Health and Care Wales (DHCW) has recently concluded an Award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition for the procurement of the "Vaccination Programme Notification Service." This service involves the continuation of UK Gov Notify, the government's messaging platform crucial for managing Covid vaccination messages in Wales. The contract, valued at £2,500,000, was signed on 30th September 2022. The primary objective is to support the ongoing vaccination and booster programmes for at least the next twelve months.

This opportunity presents potential business growth for firms specializing in postal and telecommunications services, particularly those experienced in providing short message service (SMS) services. Businesses should be well-equipped to offer high-quality solutions that conform to specified requirements and demonstrate competitive pricing. The procurement process, facilitated by DHCW, offers business opportunities to engage with a large-scale public health initiative spanning multiple locations across NHS Wales.
