Continuation of support services for the Clinical Communications Gateway System from National Services Scotland.
Notice Description
The Clinical Communications Gateway (CCG) was developed and is supported by National Services Scotland- a Public Body providing services to the NHS in Scotland. NSS have provided the system to the HSC and is used to send and track electronic referrals between GPs and secondary and community care services. NSS provide application system support and upgrade services to the HSC. CCG is the regionally agreed referral mechanism between Primary, Secondary and Community Care services.

The Clinical Communications Gateway (CCG) was developed and is supported by National Services Scotland- a Public Body providing services to the NHS in Scotland. NSS have provided the system to the HSC and is used to send and track electronic referrals between GPs and secondary and community care services. NSS provide application system support and upgrade services to the HSC. CCG is the regionally agreed referral mechanism between Primary, Secondary and Community Care services. Every day over 2500 referrals are made from Primary Care to Secondary or Community care. The CCG system has brought significant benefits to the referral process in recent years. It helps ensure the secure and timely delivery of accurate patient referral details so improving the service to patients. The HSCB has mandated the use of CCG for all referrals from GPs to all Secondary and Community Care services.
