The system is used by 13,000 users with average concurrency of 250. The database is stored on the Consolidated Server, based on twin data centres at Royal Victoria Hospital (RVH) and Belfast City Hospital (BCH) with failover capability. The database is UNIDATA, and software used to access it is a combination of green screen application (SOSCARE) and web enabled application (UNOCINI). Each Trust has its own database, but there is functionality to allow a) cross - Trust searching for Clients and their associated referrals and services and b) cross-Trust searching of a de facto Regional Child Protection Register.
