SCC SF - Market Engagement Workshop Event for Independent Alternative Provision
Notice Description
Surrey County Council (SCC) is looking to commission its Independent Alternative Provision services and would like to hear from organisations who have experience in this area of provision. This is not an invitation to tender. Surrey County Council warmly invites you to take part in our interactive market engagement workshop for potential and existing providers of Independent Alternative provision. This includes Non-Maintained Independent (NMI) provision who may wish to contribute to Surrey County Council's Independent Alternative Provision (AP) community Independent Alternative Provision is provision largely for one-to-one support, children and young people who require specialist intervention (in many cases but not exclusively for their additional needs) which in many cases is delivered in the home or in the community with the support of / or at the request of families. This may include: * Tutoring (QTS qualified and non QTS qualified) * Specialist teachers * Services supporting education * Community based service(s) (for example, equine care) * Registered therapy (such as physiotherapy, speech & language or Occupational) * Post-16 Support Services & pathways The purpose of this event will be to: - Share with you our vision and priorities for the development of Independent Alternative provision in Surrey. - Learn together about what is working well and what we can improve in how we commission and deliver Independent Alternative Provision in Surrey. - Explore the shared values and ways of working that will help us collaborate effectively in the future, as we begin the process of recommissioning the future Independent Alternative Provision offer; and - Develop a joint understanding of the outcomes for young people that we want to enable through the provision of Independent Alternative Provision in Surrey SCC would like to invite Providers with relevant experience to register for the Market Engagement Workshop Event in relation to Independent Alternative Provision services. The detailed service requirements are still in development, and information gathered from this Market Event will inform the Service Specification and key outcomes as well as the procurement process. Providers will also be invited to attend future Market Engagement Events for this opportunity. Context: Surrey County Council is embarking on an ambitious programme of change in relation to children's Independent Alternative Provision, as we look to work with our partners and providers to strengthen the provision we have available in Surrey, enabling better outcomes for children and young people. We are beginning to develop our future offer and we would like to invite potential and existing providers to play a key part in shaping this. Ultimately, it is SCCs aim to ensure that every child and young person placed within Alternative Provision (if required): * Develop the skills and confidence to return to and access mainstream education (if appropriate) * Be safe and happy in any alternative provision(s) that they access * Develop the skills and confidence to transition to adulthood, including work opportunities (apprenticeships, post-16 education) * Has the option to access and contribute to local opportunities within their communities Aligned to the SEND green paper, Independent AP should be seen as an important part of the overall education support offer for children and young people that require it. The Specification will set out our intention to commission face-to-face and online services. Surrey County Council is committed to working collaboratively with providers to develop a high-quality provision that contributes to improved outcomes for our children. We look forward to receiving your response and hearing your thoughts and ideas at the events. The event will be held on 7th March 2023. This event will be delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams If you wish to attend, please reply by providing the following information * Name of attendee(s) * Job title of attendee(s) * Organisation details, including address and contact details. * Which area of Independent Alternative Provision would you be interested in? Please note that attendance will be limited to 3 attendees per organisation. We will be providing more information, including the workshop agenda and meeting invites w/c 27th February 2023. We are very much looking forward to seeing you, Surrey County Council, Children, Families and Lifelong Learning (CFLL) Commissioning Team An expression of interest to attend this Market Engagement Event is no indication of a commitment to participate in the future tender process nor does it infer any special status on those Providers who do attend. An expression of interest in this event will not automatically entitle involvement in any future procurement exercise. Any procurement conducted as a result of this event will be advertised separately and all organisations wanting to participate will need to respond to the advertisement as and when it is published. Providers who do not attend this Market Engagement Event will still be able to apply for the Procurement in the future. Please note that this Market Engagement event does not represent a formal stage in the procurement process and attendance will play no part in any subsequent evaluation process.
