Summary of the contracting process

The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is planning a procurement process for a Framework Agreement to provide Homecare services for Parenteral Systemic Anti-Cancer Therapies and Other Biologicals. The procurement falls under the services category and involves the provision of dispensing/compounding and delivery services to patients' homes for various treatments. The two-year contract, with a potential extension to four years, aims to cater to NHS bodies in England with an estimated value of £450 million. The anticipated contract value can increase based on the uptake by listed NHS Trusts and patient numbers. The tender communication deadline is set for May 15, 2023.

The procurement opportunity presents lucrative prospects for businesses in the medical equipment, pharmaceutical products, and health services sectors. Companies able to meet the NHS Data Security and Protection Toolkit Standard for their Information Systems are well-suited to compete. The nature of the tender requires firms that can provide quality homecare services efficiently and in compliance with regulatory standards. Businesses looking to expand their presence in the healthcare sector, particularly those focusing on patient-centric services, should consider tendering for this opportunity to form strategic partnerships with healthcare institutions.
