        "description": "The UK Army requires a 'Close Quarter Battle' (CQB) sighting system that can be used on the L7A2 General Purpose Machine Gun (GPMG) to enable the Operator to view and engage targets in CQB scenarios with the weapon. This Capability will be brought into service through the Support Weapons Enhanced Sighting System (SWESS) Light-'CQB'-Sight Project. This Framework Agreement will include Costed Options for additional Purchases of CQB's and through life support for the duration of the agreement. As stated within the PIN this is a First Opportunity for New and Existing suppliers to tender their products for inclusion within the Existing SWESS Frameworks Quantity or scope: Orders placed against this Framework will be dependant on User requirement and funding. Should orders be placed against the framework the scope will include procurement, costed options for the purchase of additional Night-Sights together with the through life support of the system across all economic operators under the Framework Agreement",

The Authority is correspondingly initiating this process with a view to performing it yearly, with the following indicative timelines for the 1st Re-Tender Round: Dynamic Pre-Qualifier Questionnaire (DPQQ) issue: July 23 Invitation To Tender (ITT) issue: August 23 Range evaluation of Key requirements using (on loan) trial systems: September/October 23; Evaluation of tender documentation: September - October 23; Framework awards: November 23. The re-tender process will be in accordance with the original requirements. Tenderers will be required to have their products available for delivery to the Authority by the end of September for trials being conducted in October. The trials date will not be changed. It is important to note that although a product may be successful in getting through and placed onto the framework, there is no guarantee that this shall result in an order being placed. Additional information: Interested companies are not required to take any immediate action but should monitor the Defence Souring Portal (DSP) for the publication of the DPQQs for the 3 SWESS Light Framework Agreements. Suppliers already on the 3 SWESS Light Frameworks Agreements wishing to supply new products are not required to respond to the DPQQ or subsequent Invitation to Tender.",
