Notice Title

Quantum Cascade Laser Analyser for Greenhouse Gases and Air Pollutants

Notice Description

A rack mounted quantum cascade laser instrument capable of high precision (< 0.5 nmol mol-1 for all except carbon dioxide <= 25 nmol mol-1) simultaneous measurements of carbon dioxide, methane nitrous oxide, carbon monoxide, ammonia, nitrogen monoxide, nitrogen dioxide and sulfur dioxide in the 0 - 10 umol mol-1 range (0 - 30 umol mol-1 for methane and 0- 5000 umol mol-1 for carbon dioxide).

Lot Information

Lot 1

Multicomponent quantum cascade laser analyser with >= 1 Hz data acquisition rate that allows the simultaneous measurement of carbon dioxide (CO2), methane (CH4), nitrous oxide (N2O), carbon monoxide (CO), ammonia (NH3), nitrogen monoxide (NO), nitrogen dioxide (NO2), sulphur dioxide (SO2) with the following amount fractions ranges and one sigma (1s) precisions: Carbon dioxide (amount fraction range: 0 - 5000 umol mol-1; precision 25 nmol mol-1), methane (amount fraction range: 0 - 30 umol mol-1; precision 0.22 nmol mol-1), nitrous oxide (amount fraction range: 0 - 10 umol mol-1; precision 0.1 nmol mol-1), carbon monoxide (amount fraction range: 0 - 10 umol mol-1; precision 0.01 nmol mol-1), ammonia (amount fraction range: 0 - 10 umol mol-1; precision 0.5 nmol mol-1), nitrogen monoxide (amount fraction range: 0 - 10 umol mol-1; precision 1 % or 1 nmol mol-1, whichever is greater), nitrogen dioxide (amount fraction range: 0 - 10 umol mol-1; precision 1 % or 1 nmol mol-1, whichever is greater) and sulphur dioxide (amount fraction range: 0 - 10 umol mol-1; precision 1 % or 1 nmol mol-1, whichever is greater). The instrument shall have a flow rate of 0.5 - 1.5 slpm, a leak rate of <= 10-9 mbar xl/s and response time of < 2 minutes. It shall be able to operate under environmental conditions of ambient temperature: 150C to 300C and ambient humidity: 30-80% RH without condensing. The wetted materials shall be corrosion resistance preferable SS 316/316L. A gas connection of 1/4" or 6mm Swagelok is required with an inlet pressure of 1 - 5 bar absolute. The instrument shall have the following connectivity: 100-1000 Base-T Ethernet, USB 2.0 or better, serial RS232/485, Modbus TCP and an isolated 4-20 mA or 0-10 Vdc analogue output. Power consumption ideally should < 500 W and with a total weight of < 50 kg. The analyser shall be CE/UKCA certificated with a minimum of 12-month warranty.

Procurement Information

Miro Analytical AG is the only vendor that can provide an analytical solution that enables the simultaneous measurement of all the major greenhouse gases (CO2, CH4, N2O and CO) and air quality pollutants (NO, NO2, SO2 and NH3) with the required high precision and broad amount fraction ranges that are required. Unique features include: 1. The ability to measure all these compounds simultaneously due to a unique dual colour laser system. 2. The achieved precisions with this analyser match or exceed other optical spectrometers that are typically measuring one or two compounds. 3. The range of amount fractions that are possible to measure exceed those typical of other optical spectrometers that are measuring one or two compounds.
