Suffolk County Council are starting the Market Engagement process in relation to the future procurement for the Provision of library services in Suffolk from 45 static locations and community outreach to meet Suffolk County Council's statutory requirements under the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964.

Provision of library services in Suffolk from 45 static locations and community outreach to meet the statutory requirements of the Public Libraries and Museums Act 1964. Services required include access to printed and digital resources to meet the Universal Libraries offer to assist reading and digital literacy, learning and skills development, cultural and creative enrichment, helping everyone to achieve their full potential, leading healthier and happier lives, increasing prosperity and building stronger more resilient communities. Public consultation will take place between October 2023 and January 2024 to seek views on community needs now and in the future to help shape the services. The current contract for provision of Library services will end on 1 June 2025. The proposed term for the new contract is 6 years with the option to extend for a further 6 years at a value of PS82.1 million excluding VAT.We are keen to understand what information potential providers would want to see as part of the planned procurement and therefore providers interested in this opportunity are encourage to make early market engagement contact by the end of September 2023.
