Summary of the contracting process

Sheffield City Council is seeking providers for its Alternative Provision Dynamic Purchasing System (DPS) in Sheffield. This procurement process is focused on education and training services aimed at children and young people who require off-site education services. As part of a light touch regime project, this DPS anticipates an annual contract value of approximately £3,500,000, with an overall estimated tender value of £17,000,000. Key amendments have extended the contract deadline to 28th February 2027. This procurement stage, as of the latest tender update on 9th July 2026, remains in the Tender stage, with submissions allowed until 4th January 2027.

This DPS represents a substantial opportunity for service providers in the education sector, particularly those specialising in alternative or off-site education solutions for primary and secondary levels. Businesses with expertise in delivering therapeutic or bespoke interventions for at-risk children will find this particularly relevant. The procurement method being a selective, restricted procedure implies that providers need to qualify through compliance and a Standard Selection Questionnaire, making it ideal for businesses equipped to demonstrate quality education services and the capability to meet the specific needs outlined by the Sheffield City Council.
