Summary of the contracting process

Notting Hill Genesis (NHG) has recently awarded contracts under its "Unmetered and Domestic Heating Services Framework Agreement". The framework, aimed at providing repair and maintenance services for domestic and commercial heating systems, covers Greater London and some outlying areas. The agreement is split into two Lots: Lot 1 ("General Needs Domestic Heating") handles services including gas servicing and maintenance of domestic heating systems; Lot 2 ("Unmetered and Small Tenures Heating") focuses on unmetered heating systems and communal heating for various property types including care and support environments. The contracts were signed on 22 August 2024, with a total framework value of GBP 1611 million, and are part of NHG’s compliance program targeting performance and efficiency improvements.

This tender opens up significant opportunities for contractors specialising in heating services to secure long-term agreements with one of the largest housing associations in the UK. The procurement process follows an open procedure, encouraging participation from a diverse range of businesses, including SMEs. Companies experienced in heating maintenance, gas servicing, and energy efficiency improvements are well-suited to compete for these contracts. The framework's flexibility, including potential capital investment works and extensions up to 15 years, allows suppliers to scale their operations and establish a steady workflow, contributing to business growth within the housing maintenance sector.
