Managed Service for Hepatitis E Nucleic Acid Testing
Notice Description
In line with the UK's preparation for Plasma for Medicines, The Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) have been requested to prepare for the introduction of HAV and Parvo B19 testing. HAV and Parvo B19 testing can be performed on current SNBTS equipment that is used for testing of Hepatitis B (HCV).

Lot 1
In line with the UK's preparation for Plasma for Medicines, the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) have been requested to prepare for the introduction of HAV and Parvo B19 testing. HAV and Parvo B19 testing can be performed on current SNBTS equipment that is used for testing of Hepatitis B (HCV). The intention would be to add HAV and Parvo B19 testing from April 2024 - 31st October 2025 (19 months). The project to replace the current contract is due to commence next year and these tests will be included as part of this.
Procurement Information
Any new contract will only be for a period of 19 months, contracts of this type are generally for periods of 5 - 7 years (with options for extensions).
