This award notice is to publicise the award decision to secure the services of Wincanton plc to store HMCGs Dispersant within England.

Lot 1
Counter Pollution is one of HMCGs Six Functions and the Counter Pollution and Salvage (CPS) branch operates as the UK Competent Authority with specific responsibility for Counter Pollution preparedness and responding to at-sea pollution from shipping and offshore installations within the UK Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ), and the management of the UK Government's stockpiles of equipment and dispersant. CPS respond to national incidents; counter pollution audits of, and support to, all UK ports and harbours; management of national counter-pollution equipment; environmental support and Fate of Oil modelling, counter pollution training to local authorities.
Options: The awarded contract contains options to extend for years in period of 2 years and a further 1 year extension if required.
Lot Lot 1 Storage, Maintenance, Deployment for the UKs Counter Pollution and Salvage EquipmentThe scope of Lot 1 is to seek the services of a Service Provider that include, but not limited to; Incident Response & Support, Purchasing & Pricing, Training (Delivery of MCA Courses) Competency & Deployments, Logistical Incident Support and Reporting.
Renewal: The requirement contains provisions in place that provide extension options for a further 36 months.
Lot Dispersant Storage and MaintenanceLot 2 The Maritime and Coastguard Agency (MCA) Counter Pollution and Salvage Branch is responsible for taking action when oil or other hazardous substances spilled from ships or offshore installations threaten the UK or its waters. The first line of response to a major oil spill at sea is to spray the oil with dispersant. To meet government set targets for applying dispersant, the MCA holds stocks of dispersant, strategically placed around the UK. The MCA wishes to contract out the responsibility for storage of these dispersant stockpiles. Prospective contractors may bid for one, all, or a combination of sites. All bids must clearly state what sites are being tendered for.
