Summary of the contracting process

The National Health Service (NHS) Scotland, through The Common Services Agency, has completed a procurement process for PVC and Luer Lock Syringes. The tender covered various products aiming to supply NHS Scotland either via the National Distribution Centre or directly to Health boards. The procurement method used was a limited procedure without prior publication of a call for competition. The award was made to multiple suppliers for different lots, enhancing supply chain diversity.

This procurement opportunity in the healthcare sector offers potential for growth to suppliers of medical devices and equipment. Businesses well-suited to compete include suppliers of peripheral venous catheters and syringes meeting strict ISO standards. The contract covers a range of products with specific technical requirements, creating opportunities for suppliers capable of meeting the healthcare industry's stringent quality and safety standards.
