Summary of the contracting process

Worcestershire County Council is initiating a tender process for the Community Equipment DPS, which involves the procurement of various medical devices and products. The council, along with NHS Herefordshire and Worcestershire Clinical Commissioning Group, seeks qualified organisations to supply equipment falling under categories such as Bariatric, Bathing, Beds, and Mobility. The DPS, with an anticipated annual value of approximately £2,000,000, is expected to last for 10 years, providing opportunities for businesses to participate in delivering, maintaining, and collecting equipment.

The procurement stage involves inviting new applications until 31 January 2034, with no reapplication required for existing DPS suppliers. Businesses specialising in medical equipment provision and services related to decontamination, refurbishment, and storage are well-suited to compete for tender opportunities. The flexibility of the service to cater to individual needs efficiently presents growth opportunities for businesses within the healthcare equipment sector, as the buying organisation seeks to enhance its equipment procurement and delivery capabilities for the welfare of the community.

NOTICE TO CURRENT DPS SUPPLIERS & POTENTIAL SUPPLIERS. This DPS is being extended to continue to accept new applications until 31 January 2034. There is no requirement for those suppliers already registered as a supplier on the DPS to reapply. Worcestershire County Council (WCC) commissions the Community Equipment Service (CES) for Worcestershire.
