Summary of the contracting process

East Ayrshire Council, in collaboration with North Ayrshire and South Ayrshire Councils, has successfully awarded the contract for the provision of occupational health and welfare services. This endeavour, titled "All Ayrshire Occupational Health Service," aims to support all three councils in meeting their statutory requirements concerning work-related ill-health and other relevant conditions. The procurement process, categorized under 'company health services' (CPV code: 85147000), has been completed through an open procedure. The services are primarily focused on locations within Kilmarnock (UKM93) and Ayr (UKM94).

This tender presents an excellent opportunity for businesses specializing in occupational health services to expand their client base by engaging with regional authorities. The winning company will offer expert advice on the obligations under various health and safety regulations and support the management of employee sickness absence across the three councils. Suitable candidates for such contracts typically include established companies with a proven track record in managing large-scale occupational health projects, maintaining confidentiality in handling employee health information, and demonstrating economic stability, as evidenced by meeting the financial turnover criteria set by the councils. This long-term engagement, potentially extendable up to seven years, offers substantial growth prospects for businesses in the health services sector.
