Summary of the contracting process

Northumbrian Water Group Limited (NWL) has awarded a contract for the provision of postal services to ensure efficient post dispatch primarily for the Customer and Facilities Departments. The contract, which falls under the services category outlined by CPV code 64110000 (Postal Services), was finalised on 31 October 2024, and commenced on 1 November 2024. The postal services include Economy Mailmark, 2-day unsorted, and 3-day unsorted options. Dispatch locations include Northumbria House in Durham and NWL Bill Printers in Warrington. Key collection times span from 1:00 pm to 5:30 pm, reflecting the critical nature of timely deliveries for NWL's operations and customer interactions. This tender presents significant business growth opportunities for downstream access providers (DSAs) with robust service delivery records since 2006. DSAs can leverage this contract to cement their presence in the postal service industry, particularly in servicing high-volume mailing from both business to customers and internal intra-company communications. The requirement for efficient and regular collection times, combined with a demand for reliable and timely delivery, makes this an ideal opportunity for postal service providers with advanced logistical capabilities and an established track record of high-quality service delivery. This tender offers the successful provider valuable exposure and the potential for large-scale, high-frequency business relationships.
