Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence is planning a tender for a Synthetic Environment Service (SES) that will provide geospatial data and 3D models optimised for Modelling & Simulation (M&S) usage. The SES aims to promote interoperability and reuse, with potential expansion to cover other types of SE data for M&S in the future. The procurement process is at the planning stage, with a value of £20,000,000. The Ministry of Defence is seeking industry input through a Request for Information (RFI) and will hold an Industry Day in April 2024 at Tech UK.

This opportunity is particularly suited for businesses in the goods procurement category, specifically those providing training software packages. Companies interested in providing services related to geospatial data and 3D modeling within the Defence sector should consider participating. The planned tender offers a chance to engage with the Ministry of Defence and contribute to the development of key resources in the Defence Simulation Centre (DSC), fostering coherence and interoperability across Defence applications.
