Summary of the contracting process

The University of Derby has concluded its procurement process for establishing a Recruitment Framework Agreement with active contracts awarded as of 1st April 2025. The initiative, tagged under "services" in the industry category of recruitment services, aimed to engage recruitment specialists across five distinct lots, covering Executive to Academic roles. Held through a selective procurement method, namely the Restricted procedure, the agreement is part of the broader Public Procurement Regulations 2015. Located in Derby, the University undertook this procurement process to support their interim and permanent staffing needs. The procurement stage has moved from tender to a successfully completed award phase, involving numerous suppliers such as Alumni Executive Search UK Ltd and Adecco UK Limited.

The tender offers robust business growth opportunities for agencies within the recruitment sector, particularly those with strong networks in higher education and a track record in diverse candidate recruitment. Suitable businesses include both SMEs and larger organisations, well-versed in executive search services and capable of meeting the University's strategic and equality objectives. The University of Derby's framework provides a platform for suppliers to collaborate on high-profile recruitment, ensuring their expertise directly contributes to shaping the workforce of an established educational institution. This initiative not only seeks to enhance the University's capabilities but also presents substantial opportunities for suppliers to grow alongside a prominent public sector entity.
