ECFRS00318 End Of Life Vehicles
Notice Description
The supply of de-polluted end of life vehicles to Essex County Fire and Rescue Service for the practice of rescue techniques following road traffic collisions. Delivery of the vehicles will be to designated sites on a call off basis, and collection of the vehicles, as required, after training is completed. Due to the nature of the training and the equipment used, vehicles will be subject to large scale disassembly, with roofs, windscreens, glass and doors removed as minimum standard. This will materially affect the resale value of components spare parts. It should be assumed that the value of the returned vehicle will not be anything beyond basic scrap. The procurement has been split into 7 Lots based on geographic areas. Estimated totals have been used for values, there is no guarantee of orders.

The purpose of the market engagement is to assist the Authority in obtaining interest from the market and support those that are interested to be able to respond to a tender. It is also to explain the specification of requirements for the supply and transportation of de-polluted end of life vehicles that is required for Essex County Fire and Rescue Service for the practice of rescue techniques following road traffic collisions, which will be used for any future tender exercise that may take place. Delivery of the vehicles will be to designated sites on a call off basis, and collection of the vehicles, will be required, after training is completed. Due to the nature of the training and the equipment used, vehicles will be subject to large scale disassembly, with roofs, windscreens, glass and doors removed as minimum standard. This will materially affect the resale value of components spare parts. It should be assumed that the value of the returned vehicle will not be anything beyond basic scrap. Please confirm request to participate by 12.00 on 17th May 2024 for the events, the full address and joining instructions for these events will be provided on receipt of the request. It is anticipated that following these events a tender will be conducted with a contract to be awarded later in 2024 for an initial term of 2 years. Suppliers are solely responsible for their costs and expenses incurred in connection with the participation in these events. Under no circumstances will the Authority be liable for any costs or expenses borne by Suppliers or any of its supply chain, partners or Advisers in this Market Engagement Process.
