Summary of the contracting process

The Money and Pensions Service (MaPS), a public body governed by law in the United Kingdom, has completed its procurement process for a "Benefits Calculator" tool, classified under IT services such as consulting, software development, and support. This procurement seeks to enhance the MoneyHelper platform by embedding a two-stage benefits calculator to provide users with initial entitlement estimates and more comprehensive calculations. The contract was awarded to Investment Solver Ltd, trading as InBest, following an open procedure under the Public Contracts Regulations 2015, with a focus on the most economically advantageous tender. The award phase concluded on 6 May 2025, and the contract commenced shortly after, including a provision for a three-year term with an optional 12-month extension. The contract was valued at £30,004 and it encompasses criteria emphasizing quality, social value, and price.

This tender presents significant growth opportunities for businesses specializing in IT services, particularly those capable of delivering innovative software solutions within a structured procurement framework. Companies offering expertise in benefits calculation, digital user interface customisation, and integration with existing platforms are well-suited to compete in such tenders. The involvement of small and medium-sized enterprises is encouraged, as reflected by the award to an SME, Investment Solver Ltd. Engaging in tenders like this can expand business networks within the public sector, enhance credibility through association with respected organizations like MaPS, and increase market visibility, particularly for IT service providers looking to penetrate or expand in the public procurement landscape.
