Summary of the contracting process

The West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS) is currently in the planning stage for a new data centre project, targeting the provision of IT services including consulting, software development, Internet, and support. The project is to take place in Bradford, in the UKE4 region, and is classified under the services category. The procurement is intended to start early in 2025, with the deadline for expressions of interest set for 5th September 2024. Interested parties are encouraged to contact wayne.robinson@westyorksfire.gov.uk for further details. This procurement process will transform an existing WYFRS building into a functioning data centre, including various building works and the installation of critical infrastructure such as air conditioning, UPS, generators, and data cabinets, with a maximum contract duration of 10 years.

This upcoming tender highlights an opportunity for businesses specialising in data centre construction, IT infrastructure, and ongoing support services. With the procurement centred around the transformation of existing spaces and long-term support provisions, it is particularly suited for engineering firms, IT consultancies, and companies involved in building refurbishments and infrastructure installations. Participating in this tender not only provides the potential for long-term business growth through a stable contract but also the visibility and credibility associated with working with a reputable public organisation like the WYFRS.
