Lincolnshire & Fens Reservoir Programme - Main Works Contracts
Notice Description
Anglian Water (AWS) wishes to engage the market and potential contractors interested in its upcoming procurement for Main Works Contractors (MWC) to deliver the multi-billion-pound Fens (FR) and Lincolnshire (LR) Reservoir programme. The MWC's will be responsible for the detailed design and construction of the assets within the project. The MWC's will also require extensive involvement and expertise of Tier 2 / 3 supply chain specialists. This includes all the necessary groundworks, building, Water Treatment Plant, MEICA and associated activities that are required to deliver the assets in line with outlined requirements, specifications and DCO planning provisions. AWS is interested in engaging with both MWC and those supply chain specialists and suppliers, to assist us as we continue to develop our delivery, commercial and procurement thinking. About the projects - Water resources in AWS' regions are under significant pressure to maintain resilience and provide supply to customers. FR and LR have been identified as a preferred solution by AWS to address these long-term supply needs. The proposed LR scheme location is 30 miles south of Lincoln, within the North Kesteven district of Lincolnshire. At its greatest dimensions it is expected be approximately 2.6km wide and 3.2km long to the embankment toe. The construction stage will commence between 2029-2031, and the latest AWS Water Resource Management Plan (WRMP24) notes an earliest in-service date of 2039. The reservoir consists of multiple assets which can be aggregated into the following categories. The latest view of the project design is described and shown in the diagram below: * 55 Mm3 reservoir with 50Mm3 usable volume * Raw water will feed from three sources: 1) The South Forty Foot Drain (SFFD) 2) The River Witham (via the SFFD), and 3) The River Trent (also via the SFFD) * New upstream infrastructure is likely to consist of open channel and pipeline transfers, as well as inter-catchment treatment works (INNs and raw water treatment) * New downstream infrastructure assets will include potable treatment works, potable transfer and break pressure tanks. It is expected that c.55km of downstream transfers will be required. The proposed FR scheme, 30 miles north of Cambridge and is within the Fenland district of Cambridgeshire. At its greatest dimensions it is expected be approximately 2.6km wide and 2.4km long to the embankment toe. The construction stage will commence between 2029-2031, and the latest WRMP (WRMP24) notes the earliest in-service date of 2036. The reservoir consists of multiple assets which can be aggregated into the following categories. The latest view of the project design is described and shown in the diagram below: * 55 Mm3 reservoir with 50 Mm3 useable volume * Raw water will feed from three sources: 1) Middle Level System, 2) The Ouse Washes (River Delph)/River Great Ouse, and 3) The River Nene and its counterdrain, acting as a tertiary source * New upstream infrastructure is likely to consist of open channel transfers and may require inter-catchment treatment works (INNs and raw water treatment). * New downstream infrastructure assets will include potable treatment works, potable transfer and break pressure tanks. It is expected that c.65km of downstream transfers will be required. More detailed information on the projects is contained within the Market Engagement Pack which can be downloaded upon registration of interest. Further information regarding the development of the projects can also be found on the LR and FR websites following the links below: www.lincsreservoir.co.uk www.fensreservoir.co.uk To register your interest in the projects and respond to a short questionnaire please follow the website link below: https://esourcing.scanmarket.com/SupplierRegistration/NewSupplier?eventId=684866&ccsum=7b145a960f37017636c590d24c82d9c5
