Summary of the contracting process

The NHS Supply Chain, operated by the North of England Commercial Procurement Collaborative and hosted by Leeds and York Partnership NHS Foundation Trust, is managing a framework agreement for "Curtains, Blinds and Associated Services 2025". This procurement process focuses on the supply of various curtain types and associated services, and falls under the industry category of "Curtains, drapes, valances and textile blinds". It covers locations across the UK, addressing a demand for goods delivered directly to NHS Supply Chain depots. The process is currently at the award stage, following an open procurement approach, with contracts recently signed on 23rd April 2025. The framework spans 48 months, with anticipated expenditure between GBP 24,280,000 and GBP 40,200,000. Interested parties should duly note the end date for tender submissions on 12th December 2024 at 15:00 GMT.

This tender offers significant opportunities for business growth, particularly for suppliers specialised in curtains and associated services. Suppliers can benefit from the framework which entails a considerable expenditure forecast, facilitating engagement with NHS Trusts, government departments, and private sector entities within the UK healthcare sector. Businesses, particularly SMEs, that have expertise in producing or selling polypropylene curtains, flame retardant fabric curtains, blinds, and track systems will find this procurement advantageous. The diverse product requirements and associated services, such as fitting, removal, and recycling, provide a competitive advantage for suppliers capable of delivering high-quality products and services under the open procurement procedure. Suppliers must meet criteria such as supply resilience, product recycling, and pricing, with NHS Supply Chain prioritising economically advantageous tenders.
