Summary of the contracting process

The North London Waste Authority (NLWA) is in the planning stage of a procurement process for managed IT services, with the official tender initiation date registered as 18th November 2024. This potential procurement, anticipated for the 2025/26 financial year, targets a comprehensive range of IT services including hardware, mobile phones, networking, software, security, and support. An open Request for Information (RFI) has been announced to gather insights from potential suppliers. The submission deadline for responses to the RFI is set for 13th December 2024, and the procurement is aligned under the CPV code 72000000 for IT services. The primary location of the services is in Tottenham Hale, London, indicating the regional focus of this opportunity.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in managed IT services, particularly those with capabilities in hardware provisioning, software solutions, networking infrastructure, and security services. Participating in the RFI could benefit companies by allowing them to shape the scope and requirements of the subsequent procurement process, even though it does not guarantee participation or advantage in the future tender. This opportunity is well-suited for IT service providers with experience in public sector contracts, those looking to expand their market presence in the London region, or companies offering innovative IT solutions that can meet the evolving needs of a regional waste authority.

Lot Information

Lot 1

NLWA currently receives information technology (IT) services provided by one of the seven north London borough councils, using the council's in-house digital services team and their contracts with suppliers, but we are considering whether to procure our own supplier(s) of managed IT services in the 2025/26 financial year. We would welcome responses to inform our thinking prior to any potential procurement exercise by gaining feedback on: - the availability of solutions that may meet our requirements - how the scope of any future procurement may be packaged as a single contract or divided into multiple contracts - indicative costs - indicative timescales for migration - any risks we should be considering. Our requirements range across: - hardware and peripherals - mobile phones - networking - software and services - security - support - migration and onboarding. Further information on our requirements is available in the RFI document, which you can download on our e-procurement portal, In-tend. Responses must be submitted no later than 17:00 (GMT) on 13 December 2024. Should you choose to respond to this RFI, NLWA will take on board your response and all other responses when shaping any future procurement for this project. No contract will be awarded in response to this RFI process. Responding to this RFI is not a prerequisite for participation, and will not give respondents any advantage, in a future procurement. You can request to be notified when any further RFI or tendering opportunity for this project is published and we will use reasonable endeavours to contact you.
