Summary of the contracting process

Hertfordshire County Council is planning to award a contract for the provision of "Stop Smoking Seminars," intending to use the Most Suitable Provider process under the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023, which is distinct from the Public Contracts Regulations 2015. The project falls under the health services industry and focuses on delivering a drug-free solution for smoking cessation. The process is currently at the planning stage, with a notice period of at least 14 days for enquiries, ending on 4th December 2024. The council expects to publish the Intention to Award Notice on 6th December 2024. The service must be ready for mobilisation by the end of December 2024 and will be delivered mainly in the UKH23 region.

This tender creates significant opportunities for businesses specialising in health services, particularly those experienced in drug-free smoking cessation solutions and cognitive restructuring therapies. Companies with a robust track record in providing seminar-based interventions, online therapy programmes, and digital group sessions will be highly competitive. Furthermore, businesses capable of quick mobilisation and compliant with data protection legislation are likely to find this tender an excellent chance for growth, given the strong demand for effective stop smoking services in Hertfordshire. The planned contract is aimed at enhancing public health services and providing valuable support to local residents, thus offering a meaningful contribution to community well-being.
