Market Engagement - Solar PV Canopy and EV Charging Hub
Notice Description
Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMBC) are keen to further understand where the market stands in terms of an upcoming opportunity for the design, install and operation of a Solar PV Canopy and EV Charging Hub at Drummond Street Car Park, Rotherham, S65 1HP, on a concession contract basis. This Request for Information (RFI) therefore seeks to gather any knowledge and data that potential suppliers can provide in terms of options, structure and project viability. Supply and install works contract estimate ~PS1million Concession contract element ~PS5million Further details can be found at https://uk.eu-supply.com/ctm/Supplier/PublicPurchase/88606/0/0?returnUrl=ctm/Supplier/PublicTenders&b=UK All correspondence in relation to this RFI will be carried out via the YORtender portal. Providers experiencing technical issues surrounding the use of the YORtender system should request support from the system provider (Mercell) by logging a ticket at email: uksupport@eu-supply.com or telephone: 0800 840 2050. The Council have been awarded a grant from the Local Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (LEVI) Pilot fund to develop a Solar PV Canopy and connection infrastructure at Drummond Street Car Park. S65 1HP. This also requires private sector investment to install and run an EV Charging concession as part of the project. Drummond Street Car Park is a 240-space pay-and-display surface car park well used by commuters and shoppers. It is situated on the edge of Rotherham Town Centre, across the road from the central markets complex and has approximately 2000 households within a ten-minute walk time. The main town taxi rank is conveniently accessible from the car park and is approximately 200m away, as is the A630 with an annual average daily flow of 35,158 vehicles (2023). Additional information: An initial Request for Information (RFI) was issued in March 2023 for the same project and the information provided was extremely helpful.
