Summary of the contracting process

NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) has awarded a contract to the North Central London (NCL) Training Hub to deliver non-clinical services aimed at supporting general practice workforce development and transformation across North Central London. This contract, categorized under "Training services" (CPV code 80500000) in the services industry, is valued at £2,350,000 and is set to run for one year from 17 December 2024. The procurement method used was a limited award procedure without prior publication of a call for competition, in compliance with the General Procurement Agreement (GPA), due to the special status of the NCL Training Hub as the sole provider appointed by the NHS England Workforce, Training and Education Directorate to handle such training in the region.

This tender represents a significant business growth opportunity, particularly for organisations specialising in non-clinical training, general practice workforce development, and healthcare education. Businesses that provide mentoring programmes, workforce training aligned with strategic health initiatives, and those that can engage closely with local Integrated Care Systems and Primary Care Networks will benefit from participating. The contract supports the delivery of the General Practice Fellowship and Mentoring Programme and a training programme for NCL general practices and PCNs, creating a crucial platform for businesses to demonstrate their expertise and expand their service offerings within the North Central London healthcare sector.
