Summary of the contracting process

Forestry and Land Scotland (FLS) is seeking contractors for a tender titled "Geotechnical Works and Associated Services" under the industry category of civil engineering works. This procurement process is at the tender stage, with submission deadlines set for 22nd June 2026, and bids must be submitted via the electronic system. The procurement will take place across Scotland’s national forests and lands, focusing on both planned and emergency geotechnical works. This includes but is not limited to rock and soil reinforcement, vegetation control, and traffic management. The open procedure allows interested bidders to participate in offering their services, with a contract value estimated at £5,000,000 and a duration of almost four years.

This opportunity presents significant growth potential for businesses specialising in civil engineering, geotechnical consultancy, and related fields. Companies with robust capabilities in environmental management and compliance, particularly those skilled in handling large-scale geotechnical projects, would be well-suited to compete. With the contract's allowance for up to three participating entities, this open framework encourages collaboration and sub-contracting, fostering business expansion for companies capable of delivering comprehensive services from technical consultancy to the execution of geotechnical and environmental projects. Additionally, the inclusion of voluntary community benefits can bolster a company’s corporate social responsibility profile, offering an edge to those businesses able to integrate these aspects into their tenders.
