    "description": "This is a Provider Selection Regime (PSR) intention to award notice, Liverpool Heart and Chest Hospital NHS FT is intending to award a contract to an existing provider following Direct Award Process C, for the Provision of Adult Congenital Heart Disease (ACHD) Surgeons. The existing provider is Alder Hey Childrens NHS FT who are based at East Prescot Road, Liverpool, L14 5AB. The contract value is PS351,798.<br/><br/>The awarding of this contract is subject to the Health Care Services (Provider Selection Regime) Regulations 2023. For the avoidance of doubt, the provisions of the Public Contracts Regulations 2015 do not apply to this award. The publication of this notice marks the start of the standstill period. Representations by providers must be made to decision makers by 12:00 midnight on 14/02/25 via email to: Richard.Jolley@nhs.net<br/><br/>This contract has not yet formally been awarded; this notice serves as an intention to award under the PSR.<br/><br/>Decision maker: Directorate Manager, Surgery Division and Divisional Director of Operations, Surgery Division.<br/><br/>The key criteria were weighted as follows:<br/>Quality and Innovation - 25%<br/>Integration, Collaboration and Service Sustainability - 30%<br/>Improving access, reducing health inequalities and facilitating choice - 25%<br/>Value - 10%<br/>Social Value - 10%<br/><br/>This is a well-established service which has been delivered by the incumbent provider to a high standard. The provider has the ability to provide ACHD surgeons for ACHD theatre lists to support reducing waiting times for ACHD patients. Due to the close geographical location of Alder Hey to Liverpool Heart & Chest, this ensures the surgeons are already in close proximity and are able to support the patients out of hours and work closely with LHCH cardiac and aortic colleagues. There are also efficiencies for patients when transitioning from paediatric services at Alder Hey to adult services at LHCH. The Trusts are in close geographical proximity which assists with familiarity for patients and families when care transfers.",
