Summary of the contracting process

The University of Warwick is inviting interested parties to a Supplier Engagement Day on the 26th of February, from 14:00 to 16:00, to showcase the concept design for their Social Sciences Connect Programme (SSCP). This programme aims to construct a new Business School building. Classified under construction work for university buildings, the project is at the planning stage with key dates including the release of the Selection Questionnaire (SQ) on the 12th of March 2025, the issuance of the Invitation to Tender (ITT) on the 2nd of May 2025, the return of ITT submissions by the 1st of July 2025, and the contract award on the 27th of August 2025. The location of the project is at the University of Warwick in Coventry, with the intent to have the building operational by the start of the academic term in 2029.

This tender offers substantial opportunities for businesses specializing in construction, particularly those experienced with university building projects. The procurement method is a two-stage Design and Build (D&B) process, ideal for main contractors who can deliver both design and preconstruction services before the actual construction phase. Companies with a focus on sustainable construction practices and the ability to achieve high standards such as WELL platinum, EPC A rating, and BREEAM Excellent will find this project aligning with their expertise. The procurement route and engaging timeline also provide ample opportunity for businesses to strategize and participate effectively, fostering growth and advancements in their sector.
