Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence (MoD), via the Situational Awareness Command and Control Delivery Team (SACC DT), seeks to procure software support and training services for the MANDRIL software. This procurement, classified under industry category 'System and Support Services' (CPV code 72250000), is in the provision stage. The contract, valued at £97,500 excluding VAT, involves a single-source agreement with Leidos Innovation UK Limited for 36 months, covering the support of two MANDRIL licences and the provision of user training. The process, driven by the need for technical expertise only available from the original equipment manufacturer, adheres to the Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations 2011, as amended.

This tender presents significant business growth opportunities especially for firms specialising in defence software support, system integration, and technical training services. Companies possessing expertise in high-security defence projects, particularly those capable of supporting complex defence communication systems, will find this contract particularly suitable. The procurement method used indicates that future opportunities may be more accessible to businesses with specialised technical knowledge, therefore establishing strong, credible experience in defence contracts would be beneficial for potential competitors.
