Summary of the contracting process

Wrexham County Borough Council has initiated an open tender process to appoint a contractor for the replacement of water mains at Whitehurst Gardens, Chirk. This project falls under the construction work for water and sewage pipelines, ancillary works for water pipelines, and water-main refurbishment construction work industries. The procurement stage is currently active, with key dates including an enquiry period ending on 27th March 2025 and a submission deadline of 3rd April 2025. The project's estimated value is £120,000 gross, and the anticipated contract period is from 5th May 2025 to 4th July 2025.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specializing in water pipeline construction and refurbishment. SMEs are particularly well-suited to compete for this contract, given the specific mention of suitability for small and medium enterprises. The open competition method ensures a fair chance for all qualified contractors, and the project requires a solid understanding of JCT Minor Works Contract 2016. Successful completion of this project could facilitate future opportunities within local government infrastructure projects.
