Summary of the contracting process

West Yorkshire Police is currently planning the re-procurement of services for Force Medical Advisors and Select Medical Practitioners. The tender is part of a regional consortium that includes North Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police, Humberside Police, and Cleveland Police. The procurement process is in the planning stage, with preliminary market engagement closing on 7 April 2025. The main industry category is miscellaneous health services, with physical delivery expected across multiple regions in the United Kingdom. The new contract commencement is scheduled for 30 October 2025, following the expiration of the current service agreements.

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses, especially small to medium enterprises (SMEs) and voluntary, community and social enterprises (VCSEs). By allowing for participation in a structured and potentially collaborative contract, businesses can benefit from the visibility and scale provided through public procurement. Firms specialising in medical practice services and miscellaneous health services would find this tender well-suited to their capabilities. West Yorkshire Police’s focus on local SME engagement suggests a preference for companies that can offer manageable and efficient oversight and contracting mechanisms.
