Force Medical Advisors & Select Medical Practitioners
Notice Description
West Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police, Humberside Police, and Cleveland Police are currently contracted as a regional consortium to a single supplier for their services. Each Force currently has a their own service contract with the single supplier who covers the contract services as a whole. This contract will expire 29/10/2025. In accordance with Police Regulations, Police Pensions Regulations, Injury Benefits Regulations, Local Government Pension Scheme Regulations (LGPS) and relevant legislation advice and guidance, There is a requirement for each Force to have access to a Force Medical Advisor (FMA) / Selected Medical Practitioner (SMP) and Independent Registered Medical Practitioner (IRMP). West Yorkshire Police are currently scoping out the re-procurement and are considering options around whether to progress with a regional collaborative contract or individual Force contracts. Feedback from this initial preliminary market engagement will be shared with the following forces West Yorkshire Police, North Yorkshire Police, South Yorkshire Police, Humberside Police, and Cleveland Police which will feed into the decision making. West Yorkshire Police have seen the benefit of working directly with local SME's and are considering how to structure the new tender opportunity to ensure it is attractive to the market whilst remaining manageable to oversee and contract manage.
