Summary of the contracting process

The Ministry of Defence (MOD), represented by Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) Deca, has initiated a procurement process titled "X-Ray Cabins - PA 23", focusing on the maintenance and repair of transportable X-Ray Cabin capabilities. The procurement, classified under the services category, is in the planning stage, with key dates including a response deadline of 9 May 2025 and a clarification questions deadline of 25 April 2025. The procurement involves thorough market engagement to gather information about potential suppliers, indicated by the preliminary market engagement notice published on 11 April 2025. The project, located in the United Kingdom, aims to understand industry capacity to support MOD's non-destructive testing teams, with an estimated contract value between £378,000 and £552,000 (excluding VAT).

This tender presents significant opportunities for businesses specialising in repair and maintenance services, particularly those with experience in radiographic equipment and compliance with safety regulations. SMEs are encouraged to participate, as the procurement process seeks organisations that can provide annual servicing, on-site repairs, and detailed compliance reports for electrical installations and structural assessments. Companies adept in servicing transportable X-Ray cabins, and with capabilities in non-destructive testing, will find this procurement a valuable opportunity for business growth and long-term collaboration with MOD, with the contract period expected to commence in December 2025 and run until November 2030, with possible extensions up to 2032.
