Contract Summary
Cambridgeshire County Council currently commissions a single provider to deliver translation and interpretation services across 103 teams within the Local Authority. The Council is required to recommission this service due to the natural expiry of the current contract. The procurement is currently scheduled to launch in Autumn 2025, with the aim of having a new service in place by July 2026 (dates subject to change). This procurement will be undertaken solely by and for Cambridgeshire County Council. This market engagement seeks to assess market appetite and capability in relation to the proposed contract scope, performance requirements, and the feasibility of meeting demand. The service is expected to cover translation and interpretation services including face-to-face, video remote, telephone, document translation, proof-reading and non-verbal communications such as BSL. The Council are also open to AI translation and interpretation services. The Council are considering a model which would support multiple providers to supply these services.
